ChemLog Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ChemLog is an iOS application for logging agricultural chemical spray sessions. It is developed and maintained as an independent app ("we," "us," or "our"). If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at support@chemlog.app.

2. What Data ChemLog Collects

ChemLog collects only the data you enter directly into the app. This includes:

• Spray session records — date, location name, chemicals applied, application rates, field information, drone information, and notes.
• Field information — field names, crop types, acreage, and optional GPS boundary coordinates that you draw.
• Chemical products — product names, manufacturers, EPA registration numbers, and active ingredients you enter or import from a label.
• Drone information — nicknames, make, model, serial numbers, and FAA registration numbers.
• Weather data — wind speed, wind direction, temperature, and humidity logged at the time of a session. This data is entered manually or retrieved from your device's location at the time of logging.

3. Location Data

ChemLog may request access to your device's location for two purposes:

• Weather logging — to retrieve current weather conditions at your location when you start a spray session.
• Field boundary mapping — to center the map near you when you draw field boundaries.

Your location is used only in the moment it is requested and is never transmitted to our servers. Precise location data used for field boundaries is stored locally on your device (and in your private iCloud, if enabled) as part of your field records.

4. Camera and Photo Library

ChemLog may request access to your camera and photo library for the following purposes:

• Barcode scanning — to read barcodes on pesticide containers and pre-fill the EPA registration number field.
• Label import — to photograph or import an image of a chemical label for automatic field extraction.

Images are processed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Vision and VisionKit frameworks. No images are uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.

5. How Your Data Is Stored

All data you enter into ChemLog is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, your data is also synced to your private iCloud account via CloudKit. This sync happens directly between your device and Apple's servers under your Apple ID — we have no access to this data.

We do not operate any servers, databases, or cloud infrastructure that receive or store your information.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

ChemLog offers auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, process, or store your payment information. For information on how Apple handles payment data, please review Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

ChemLog does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or data-collection services. The only external service involved is Apple's iCloud (for optional data sync) and the App Store (for subscriptions), both governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with any third parties. Your spray records are yours alone.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

You are in full control of your data. You can delete any record — sessions, fields, chemicals, or drones — directly within the app at any time. To delete all data, you can delete the ChemLog app from your device. To remove data from iCloud, you can manage or delete ChemLog's iCloud data in your device's Settings under Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

10. Children's Privacy

ChemLog is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is designed for agricultural professionals.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
